It's a working day. Just not the usual one.
Arrive, get set up, get through your work. Take a break, grab a coffee, have a conversation if you fancy it. Then go back to what you were doing.
Pick a day
Book when a date goes live. Each date lists the venue, hours, facilities, accessibility and cost before you commit.
Bring your work
Turn up when it suits you, find a spot and settle in. Leave when you need to.
Work your way
Heads down all day or a chat over coffee. Both count as doing it right.
Five rules, all reasonable.
- 01Mind your calls and your volume.
- 02Leave room for focus.
- 03No unsolicited selling.
- 04Be nice.
- 05Respect the venue, its staff and its rules.
Fair questions.
Is this a networking event?
No. There's no agenda, no badges, no pitches and no organised introductions.
Do I need to talk to anyone?
Not at all. Being among people is enough.
Is this coworking?
Not in the usual sense. There's no membership and no desk subscription. It's a single working day in a good local venue, shared with other people doing their own work.
Where can I work remotely in Exeter?
Cafés and coworking spaces are the usual options. OOO Exeter adds another: shared working days in distinctive local venues, with no membership. Sign up to hear when the first dates are confirmed.
Will OOO come to other towns?
Exeter is first. If the pilot works, we'll take OOO to more towns and cities. Tell us where you'd like it next through our contact form.
I work for a large employer. Can I come?
Yes, as long as your workplace policies allow it and you can work safely and appropriately off site.
Can I take calls?
It depends on the venue's arrangements, which we'll list for each date. Use headphones and be mindful of the people around you.
Do I have to be self employed?
No. Remote and hybrid employees are central to the idea. Freelancers are welcome too.
Does it cost anything?
We're testing the idea over three pilot days. Any price or optional contribution will be stated clearly for each date.
Can I turn up without booking?
Please follow the booking instructions for each date once it goes live.
Are Wi-Fi and power sockets guaranteed?
Check the confirmed facilities for each venue. We'll only list what we've checked.
Will food and drink be provided?
Every venue is different. We'll tell you ahead of time.
Is it accessible?
Each venue will publish its checked accessibility details. If you have a particular requirement, get in touch and we'll help.
